Listing Details

Measuring just over 8 x 13 inches, offered is a wonderful original George Washington document from the Revolutionary War. Dated November 3, 1778, this is all written to a Colonel Henry Jackson. Content relates to discharges for two soldiers, Washington is polite and direct as always. Washington has great handwriting, providing for some tremendous display potential. The Washington autograph is particularly large, bold and fine, it has a strong flow and looks terrific. The document itself has held up remarkably well over the centuries, with very mild general wear only. In these remarkably partisan and troubling times, items from George Washington should get an especially recepive response. Washington presciently warned of our current predicament, as he was completely against the corrosive effects of political parties and the inevitable partisan warfare that will follow. Who wants to add a fine and great looking signed item from the Revolutionary War signed by the person who may well have been the most consequential person in all of American history? Almost needless to say, a Washington autograph will instantly elevate the stature of almost ANY autograph collection. JSA LOA (full).
