The name Knute Rockne is among the most hallowed and revered in football history. This legendary coach died in a plane crash in 1931 at only age 43. His autograph is treasured by collectors, it usually only comes in the form of a cut or 3x5. The offered lot is very special, it is an original 7x5 x 11 (as framed) photo. Taken at the 1925 Rose Bowl, Rockne is posed alongside team member Adam Walsh. Both Rockne and Walsh signed on their image in period ink. The Rockne autograph is exceptionally bold and fine, it contrasts perfectly against the photo. Please note there is some creasing on the photo, but they are not near the signatures and do not affect either autograph in any way. Fresh to the hobby, this is simply an amazing, rare and historic Knute Rockne signed photo. JSA LOA full.
