Terrific ring from a top 102-game winning team, the Orioles lost this classic World Series to the We Are Family Pirates in 7 games. Offered is a beautiful condition real World Series Orioles ring awarded to Earl Weaver's and the Orioles beloved groundskeeper Pat Santarone. Santarone was the head groundskeeper from 1969 - 1991 for the O's. Earl Weaver brought him to Baltimore and Santarone had an almost legendary tomato patch in the left field foul ball territory, and had contests with Weaver in tomato competitions. This beautiful 10 karat gold ring has a distinctive orange stone on the face of the ring surrounded by American League Champions Baltimore Orioles above and to the sides of the stone. One shank reads 1979 with the Orioles mascot and Memorial Stadium visage, the other reads Santarone and has an Orioles flag. The interior is engraved Balfour 10k. The ring is a size 11 3/4 and is in truly magnificent, virtually untouched condition as this was probably never worn. Extremely desirable piece from a beloved Baltimore icon, this is completely fresh to market and comes in a vintage Balfour box that is very likely the original box.
