Nearly thirty years after his death, Mickey Charles Mantle is as famous as ever. A king of the sports collecting world, people fight hard at auction over his large production cards and items that he signed at a multitude of shows when they have unusual inscriptions. The offered lot is a presumably one-of-a-kind, great, special and simply wonderful piece of Mickey Mantle memorabilia. Offered is the original New York Yankee scouting report by 1920s pitcher and future scout Dutch Zwilling of Mantle as a Joplin, Missouri Minor League player.. The report is for three players, oddly enough Mantle is at the bottom. Mantle is described as a Great hitter ? very fast, Fair fielder ? good arm, good Attitude and Disposition. Is not now a great shortstop ? good enough as hitter to enter AAA. Who wants to own a truly great and unique Mickey Mantle item that no one else has?
