Listing Details

A fascinating baseball, this is an evenly toned ONL Frick model. Based on the story from our consignor and the inclusion of Cecil Travis from the Washington Senators, we believe this was signed on Aprll 17, 1947, known as Babe Ruth Day. The legendary Ruth died the following year and was in very poor health in 1947, this was one of his final appearances at Yankee Stadium. A superb ball with great significance, the signatures include Ruth, Cobb, Wagner, Sisler, Maranville, Johnny Allen and Eddie Collins or Ed Walsh. Possibly unique, how many baseballs from this era can exist with Ruth, Cobb and Wagner? Even better, Ruth and Wagner are on the same panel! Completely fresh to the hobby, who wants to own a truly great signed baseball with historical significance?
