How is this for vintage? A two-page full ALS from underrated HOFer and 3,000 hit club member Eddie Collins? Dated September 21, 1910, this is very interesting as Collins details the equipment size for an All Star Tour that apparently did not have the blessing of the Baseball Commission at the time. This was a classic power struggle between management and labor, with MLB going to far as to ban any players who participated from appearing in a World Series and they also attempted to stop any stadiums from hosting such an event. MLB was ultimately successful in their efforts here. This makes for a very interesting letter of course given the content and it also must be noted that any letter from as far back as 1910 from a baseball HOFer is EXTREMELY RARE and desirable. In particular, Eddie Collins's signature, which readily available on documents from the 1930s and 1940s, is also non-existant on something from 1910 as a player. This is a very special piece. Please note the letter has some general wear and some slight holes by the top margin from one-time display, the writing is not affected in any way.
