One of the most attractive of all 19th century trade cards, these cards have a rich blue border and terrific images. Exceptionally clean, these are on fragile paper stock and have the sharpest corners that we have ever seen on this issue. Also, like almost all 19th century issues, these were removed from a scrapbook; fortunately, the work was quite good with hardly any paper loss or major issues, the backs also happen to display quite well overall. Our consignor paid $1,200 for these back in 1995, it will be interesting to see where they end up. I would not assume that another full set in this quality will be coming on the market again anytime soon.
