Listing Details

A great piece, so creative, offered is a smartly composed 21 x 24 framed display. Celebrating the 1916 World Champion Boston Red Sox, an obscure young pitcher named Babe Ruth won his first title that year! This has an attractive image of the five starting pitchers for this team, with perfect quality matted signatures of all five just below. The absolute key here of course is Mr. Ruth, the signature is a strong G.H. Ruth blue ink autograph, likely cut from a check. The other four are Rube Foster, Dutch Leonard (D'1952), Carl Mays (D'1971) and Ernie Shore. We have not seen this until now, this is a terrific and fun piece. JSA LOA (full).
