Listing Details

A great card that hardly ever comes around in recent years, this is an unquestionable Rookie Card of the legendary Joe DiMaggio. Issued in 1936 in Canada, these have always been quite scarce and desirable. The offered card was purchased from us in the late 1990s and was freshly graded at the National Convention. This card offers a clean black and white portrait of a somewhat somber and serious Rookie DiMaggio. The front of the card has outstanding centering, clean borders and hardly creasing. The corners some only mild and consistent wear. The back of the card has some slight creasing and wear in one spot by the left border. With a dual biography in English and French, the back displays quite well overall. The most desirable Rookie Card of one of the most popular players in all of baseball history, there are hardly any public sales in the last few years (SGC Authentic $17,400, PSA Q Auto $203,326). Who wants to add a truly great Joe DiMaggio card to their collection?
