Listing Details

An attractive full size Abraham Lincoln document signed as President, this appoints a Captain of Ordnance in 1861. The document has some general wear, including typical fold lines and a slightly worn Presidential seal but retains good character and display value. Crucially, this is signed by Lincoln at the lower right, a solid signature graded a conservative 7 by PSA and by Secretary of War Stanton at the bottom center. It is amazing how these things can sell for less than a Babe Ruth autographed photo. It would seem that this would be an absolutely ideal item to put in a closet for a few years and see if the market calibrates over time to reflect real historical value. PSA DNA (full).
