Listing Details

This First Edition Presentation copy was published in New York by Harcourt Brace in 1956. The book has the original cloth and dust jacket with some mild edge wear and closed tears but still nice original color. Professor Burns inscribed the front free endpaper as follows: For Mrs. Eleanor Roosevelt with many thanks again! James M Burns August 1957. This is still considered the most important book about FDR and has been read by students like myself for the past half-century. THIS WAS ELEANOR ROOSEVELT S PERSONAL COPY OF THIS SEMINAL WORK OF AMERICAN HISTORY. RARE.
