A vital and iconic figure in the history of professional boxing, Johnson is a larger than life figure who's fame continues to this day. Always an extremely desirable autograph, Johnson is especially desirable on a photo. The offered lot is just tremendous, this is a great image on period photo paper that may well be from 1912! This is mounted to a cardboard backing, the edges show typical wear, there is a closed tear by the bottom border. This image is from a 1912 era fight of Jack Johnson with famed announcer Billy Johnson. As if that is not enough, this is personally signed by Johnson to vital boxing historian, author and HOFer Nat Fleischer! The signature is in black fountain pen ink at the lower right corner and is very nice. This is the kind of piece that whatever it sells for, it is almost not enough. Superb! JSA LOA (full).
