Offered is a truly remarkable two-page ALS written to baseball historian John Holoway. This letter goes into amazing detail about potential HOFers from the Negro Leagues. Conlan really names names here, including Cool Papa Bell, Oscar Charleston, Monte Irvin (who he thought was far inferior to Charleston), Willie Foster and Joe Rogan. The content is poignant at times: It was a shame those fellows couldn't have played in the big leagues, and we all got along just fine. This is an utterly fascinating, even important letter.
