Collection of six rare oversized publicity photographs issued in promotion of the 1926 silent film The New Klondike, a baseball comedy/drama starring Tom Meighan. All oversized Hollywood publicity stills, which measure 14x11 inches, are exceedingly rare, let alone those issued for silent films. While it is not known for certain, it is believed that oversized stills were distributed only to major movie theaters, which would account for their scarcity today. Each of the photos in the offered collection features Meighan, who played the role of Tom Kelly, a small-town pitcher who joins a minor-league team in Florida. Five of the stills picture him in uniform, while the sixth captures him in street clothes surrounded by his teammates as he talks to his love interest in the film. One duplicate (picturing Meighan in a batting pose) is included here. Three of the stills have small corner chips, and most display light creasing along the border areas. In Very Good condition overall.
