Very bright and attractive card, we have examined the card closely under magnification and cannot see any alterations or flaws. We are guessing that pencil was erased somewhere, or suspected of being erased. The card otherwise grades a pleasing VG, with no creases or wrinkles, and mild corner wear only. This might be a mistake, we are not certain.
