Lot #3 Letter Alexander, Grover Cleveland 2-Page ALS w/Monty Stratton Contet Cond: 9.5
Category: 2000 Pacific Omega Signatures
Terrific piece, this is a perfectly clean two-page ALS. Written on Hotel Times Square of New York City letterhead, this was penned by the legendary Alexander in 1939. This is very special as Alexander writes in part: I dont think it is possible for Monte Stratton to ever pitch again all they would do is bunt and he would not get around to field the ball. Alexander also notes Bill Killifer as his best catching battery mate. Signed GC Alexander in flowing period fountain pen ink, the writing and signature are all impeccable. This is a beautiful letter from a cornerstone HOFer, Alexander’s autograph can sell for $1,000 - $2,000 on a cut, this is so much nicer and more desirable than a simple signature. Also please note it is extremely unusual to find letter from HOFers that discuss other players, especially in 1939! This is the kind of thing that has everything going for it, a legendary HOFer, scarcity (he died in 1951), great content and terrific condition. JSA LOA (full).
