Lot #31 1888 Yum Yum Tobacco Billy Sunday Cond: SGC 1

A fascinating story, Billy Sunday played baseball in the 19th century and went on to become America's most prominent evangelist in the 1910s and 1920s. Sunday has only a few cards, they are revered by collectors, the offered card might be the toughest one to locate. From a very rare set, this card offers a unique image of Sunday. Pictured in a very unusual pose, this has no creasing and a clean blank back. There is slight surface wear by the upper left corner, and there is a small stain by the lower right corner. Despite these issues, this is a handsome and well preserved card. In the last 15 years, the only public sale was for one that we sold that was missing the bottom border ($1,440). Do not assume one of these will be coming around again anytime soon!
