Lot #30 Washington, George Signed Document (1774) Cond: 9

A world historical figure and the crucial Founding Father of the United States, this is an autograph that seems so undervalued in today's market. The offered lot is a very unusual George Washington signed item, this is a January 25, 1774 payment to a French and Indian War soldier. The payment was in the form of land owed to a Nathan Barrett (he was under Washington's command). This is especially interesting as the French and Indian War propelled Washington into the Colonial spotlight. The document itself measures approximately 7x5, it is matted and framed to 19x11.

This has wear from folding and wear from age and handling, but still displays well. The George Washington autograph sits at the lower right corner and is large and flawless. Matted with an attractive image of George Washington as a surveyor, this is simply a great item. JSA LOA (full).
