Clean Sweep Auctions has been running real auctions since 1996. The owner, Steve Verkman, has been active on the show circuit since 1988. Why is this important? We have over 15,000 customers in our database and have relationships with many clients that go back over decades. Also because we sell and not only auction items, we have a much better feel for what is hot and what is not, leading to better decisions on lotting, slabbing and marketing of your cards, autographs and memorabilia.
If you have a T206 Ty Cobb, 1933 Goudey Babe Ruth, 1951 Bowman Mantle, 1953 Topps Mantle etc and consign it to our auction, you will not be competing with three to ten other examples of the same card in the same auction and going to the same customer base. We are not too big and not too small, allowing us the flexibility to maximize the prices for your items.
With our now 30 years in the business, we have few peers in our knowledge and expertise on vintage cards, autographs, publications and memorabilia. We are careful about researching obscurities and variations in the worlds of cards, autographs and memorabilia. We go out of our way to provide the most honest, properly detailed descriptions in the industry.
This is a term that gets thrown around by everyone but when something is sold in a Clean Sweep Auction, bidders know they are bidding on something real. Bidders do not hesitate to leave maximum bids in our auction as they know there is not a chance that they will be run up. Clean Sweep is the only major auction houses that not only restricts consignor bidding but actively polices it. Finally, when it comes to getting paid, we are always on time and offer tremendous cash advances for appropriate consignments.
We charge a 10% commission on all items that sell for $500 or more and 15% for lots that sell for under $500.
Clean Sweep Auctions offers national exposure, quality descriptions and no excess lotting. We have millions of dollars available to finance tthe consignment, direct purchase or a combination thereof for any collection.

Clean Sweep Auctions will provide appraisals for all material sent physically to Clean Sweep's offices in New York state.
We cannot provide appraisals sight unseen via e-mail.
We provide written appraisals for purposes of insurance or otherwise; there is a minimum cost of $100 for any appraisal. The rest of the fee depends on the nature and value of the items being appraised.
We do not change any appraisal fee for any item that we end up purchasing outright or accepting on consignment for our auctions.
